Dr. Clymer graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1967 and served four years active duty, including a one year combat deployment to Vietnam. He was the director of the Specialized Care Program at Walter Reed Army Medical Center for 13 years before entering private practice. He specializes in the treatment of veterans with PTSD and veterans suffering from medically undiagnosed physical symptoms. We spoke to him about the emotional effect of returning home from war and trying to reintegrate into society, and how the welcome home Vietnam vets received hindered that process.
